We encourage all to strive to be peacemakers and follow principles of peaceful conflict resolution as found in the scriptures and taught by leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and by dispute resolution professionals. We believe that contending parties should first try to work out their differences without litigation by talking to one another amicably, listening intently, and making a genuine attempt to understand each other’s views. Should such efforts fail, we believe that the private dispute resolution processes of mediation and arbitration will better serve the needs of most people.
